Bild warns of a possible Russian offensive
German newspaper Bild has published a forecast that Russia could launch an offensive against Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia as early as May 2026. The publication publishes so-called «arrows» with forecasts, similar to its publications in 2021 on Ukraine.
In December 2021, Bild already reported that Russia was preparing a plan to seize two-thirds of Ukraine's territory, including Kyiv. This forecast was confirmed a few months later when Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
Parallels with the events of 2022
Bild's current forecast of an attack on the Baltic states follows the pattern of previous warnings about Ukraine. According to the magazine's sources, Russia may use similar tactics as in 2022.
The publication advises citizens of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia to be cautious and have basic supplies for survival in the event of a possible war.

Bild is one of the largest German media outlets that has made accurate predictions about Russia's actions in the past. The forecast of an attack on Ukraine made at the end of 2021 was confirmed in February 2022.
