Fragments of a drone marked «Geranium-2» found in UAE after Iranian attack»
After Iran's drone attack on the territory of the United Arab Emirates, the wreckage of a drone marked with the «Geranium-2». This was reported by the media with reference to photos and data from the scene.
Fragments of the drone were found near Jebel Ali port - one of the largest ports in the Middle East. The wreckage bears a Russian marking «Geranium-2», which is used for modified drones of the Shahed-136.
What is known about the attack
According to preliminary data, the strike occurred during a wave of Iranian drone launches in the region. Some of the drones could have been intercepted by air defence systems, but the wreckage of one of the drones fell in Dubai.
There have been no reports of casualties or significant damage.
The Russian trail
Labelling «Geranium-2» is used by Russia to refer to kamikaze drones created on the basis of Iranian Shahed-136, which are actively used during the war against Ukraine.
The discovery of such wreckage in the UAE may indicate the use of similar drones by the Iranian side or the existence of common technologies in these systems.
