New Iranian leader will be a target - Israeli Defence Minister says
Minister of Defence of Israel Israel Katz said that any new supreme leader of Iran, appointed after the recent events in the country, could be targeted for elimination if he continues the policy of threats against Israel.
Katz posted a statement on social media.
What the Israeli Defence Minister said
According to Katz, any leader appointed by the Iranian regime to continue the policy of confrontation with Israel, the United States and the countries of the region will be a potential target.
He stressed that Israel is ready to act regardless of who leads the Iranian regime.
«It doesn't matter what his name is or where he is hiding,» the minister said.
The operation against Iran
Katz also said that together with the country's Prime Minister, he instructed the Israeli Defence Forces to prepare for further actions as part of a military operation against Iran.
According to him, Israel will continue to work together with its American allies to destroy the military capabilities of the Iranian regime.

The statement was made against the backdrop of a sharp deterioration of the situation in the Middle East and large-scale military operations between Israel, the United States and Iran.
In recent days, numerous attacks on military targets have been recorded in the region, as well as intensification of political struggle within Iran.
