The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) has reported a large-scale air operation against targets in Iran. According to the press service, more than 200 fighter jets took part in the attack.<\/p>\n
The defence ministry said that the strikes were aimed at a number of strategic targets. At the same time, the official list of the affected targets has not yet been made public.<\/p>\n
The Israeli side stresses that the operation is aimed at weakening Iran's military capabilities.<\/p>\n
Reports of such a large-scale attack sharply increase the risks of further escalation in the Middle East. Tehran is expected to retaliate, potentially threatening to expand the conflict.<\/p>\n
International partners have already called on the parties to exercise restraint, fearing that the confrontation could escalate into a wider regional conflict.<\/p>\n
Tensions between Israel and Iran have remained high in recent years amid mutual accusations of preparing military operations and developing missile and nuclear programmes.<\/p>\n
