Special envoy of US President Donald Trump Steve Witkoff<\/strong> said that during the first meeting with the Iranian delegation, Tehran openly reported significant stocks of enriched uranium.<\/p>\n According to Witkoff, Iranian negotiators \u00abdirectly, without hesitation\u00bb told the US side that they control 460 kilograms of uranium<\/strong>, enriched to 60%.<\/p>\n He stressed that, according to them, this amount of material could theoretically produce up to 11 nuclear warheads after further enrichment.<\/p>\n \u00abThis was the beginning of their negotiating position,\u00bb the envoy said.<\/p>\n The United States views such statements as evidence of Tehran's confidence in its nuclear capabilities.<\/p>\n Experts emphasise that uranium with an enrichment level of 60% is technically close to the weapons-grade level (90%), but this does not in itself mean that a ready-made nuclear weapon is available.<\/p>\n Iran insists that its nuclear programme is peaceful.
