President of the United States Donald Trump<\/strong> sharply criticised Spain after reports of restrictions on the use of Spanish military bases by US forces.<\/p>\n According to the US leader, Madrid allegedly informed Washington that the US could not use Spanish bases.<\/p>\n \u00abSpain has told us that we cannot use their bases. We are completely shutting down trade with them,\u00bb Trump said.<\/p>\n He also added that the US could act without authorisation if necessary.<\/p>\n \u00abIf we want to, we will simply fly into Spanish bases and use them without permission,\u00bb the president said.<\/p>\n As of now, Madrid's official response to these statements has not been made public.<\/p>\n Spain is a NATO ally of the United States and hosts important US military infrastructure.
