The European Union countries did not support the idea of Ukraine's accelerated accession to the EU in 2027. This was reported by Politico<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/em> with reference to sources in Brussels.<\/p>\n According to the publication, the EU member states rejected the so-called \u00abfast track\u00bb model, which provided for the principle of \u00abfirst membership, then full integration\u00bb<\/strong>. This concept was actively promoted by the EU executive branch.<\/p>\n The initiative envisaged that Ukraine could formally become a member of the European Union in the coming years, with full integration into all EU policies and mechanisms to be completed later.<\/p>\n However, a number of EU countries opposed this approach, emphasising that the accession procedure should be under the standard model - with full implementation of all pre-membership criteria and reforms<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Diplomats note that the proposal has raised concerns about possible risks to the institutional stability of the EU and its budgetary system.<\/p>\n Rejecting the accelerated model does not mean stopping negotiations on Ukraine's membership.<\/p>\n Kyiv continues to implement the necessary reforms and adapt its legislation to EU norms as part of the accession negotiations.<\/p>\n At the same time, discussions on the future enlargement of the European Union continue, and the issue of
