Russia is trying to create a 20km zone near Ukraine's border<\/h2>\n

Russian troops are trying to form approximately A 20-kilometre \u00abbuffer zone\u00bb along the Ukrainian border<\/strong> on the territory of Sumy and Kharkiv regions. To this end, the Russian army is gradually seizing border villages and trying to push the line of fighting deeper into Ukrainian territory.<\/p>\n

According to Drapaty, the Russian command is seeking to form a so-called \u00absanitary zone\u00bb<\/strong> along the state border to make it more difficult for Ukrainian troops to conduct operations and reduce the risk of strikes on Russia's border regions.<\/p>\n

    This is not the first time that the Russian authorities have voiced the idea of creating a so-called \u00abbuffer zone\u00bb. Moscow has repeatedly announced its intention to create a \u00absanitary belt\u00bb along the border with Ukraine after Ukrainian strikes on Russian territory.<\/p>\n

    However, the Ukrainian military emphasises that Russian forces are advancing with heavy losses<\/strong>, and most attempts to break through in the border areas manages to contain<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
