Nevertheless, $18 billion is allocated to support other countries, but Kyiv is not on the list. The document still needs to be approved by Congress.<\/p>\n<h2>The US budget for 2027<\/h2>\n<p>The White House today released the draft US budget for 2027. The total spending will amount to $2.16 trillion, of which $1.5 trillion will go to defence. The defence budget has increased by 40% and focuses on the latest weapons, including 6th generation F-47 fighter jets, munitions, drones, military artificial intelligence, and nuclear weapons investments.<\/p>\n<h2>No support for Ukraine<\/h2>\n<p>The draft budget for 2027 does not provide for any assistance to Ukraine - neither military, nor financial, nor humanitarian. Instead, $18 billion is allocated to support other countries, but without mentioning Kyiv. Last year, Ukraine was mentioned only in the context of spending cuts, but Congress added aid separately. This time, there are no such initiatives in the draft.<\/p>\n<h2>Cost reduction and other priorities<\/h2>\n<p>Non-defence spending was reduced by 10% to $660.1bn. $13bn will be allocated for the extraction of critical minerals in the US. NASA's budget has been reduced by 23%, but an additional $731 million has been allocated for the lunar programme, which envisages landing people on the moon in 2028. Contributions to the UN and other organisations are reduced by $2.7 billion, and total funding for international programmes is reduced by 30% to $35.6 billion.
