Turkish ships are already on their way to Havana to save Cuba from the blackout.<\/p>\n<h2>Ukraine has lost its power plant ships<\/h2>\n<p>The Turkish company Karpowership, with which Ukraine failed to reach an agreement, is already sending its floating power plants to Cuba. The project for Odesa region is officially closed, and the ships have left Ukrainian ports. The Cabinet of Ministers explained the decision by saying that renting the boats would have cost $250 million per year, which is twice the market price of electricity. In addition, the Turkish side demanded 100% guarantees of protection against missile attacks, which was impossible to provide in a time of war.<\/p>\n<h2>Wasted money and lost opportunities<\/h2>\n<p>To prepare the infrastructure in <a href=\"https:\/\/ukrmedia.news\/en\/main-news\/ataka-odeshchyna-porty-enerhetyka\/\">ports<\/a> Ukraine spent UAH 300 million of budget funds. Now, these investments have turned out to be in vain, as ships are already heading to Havana to save Cuba from the energy crisis. The Ukrainian side acknowledges that the project did not meet expectations, and that Turkish generation has chosen more accommodating customers.<\/p>\n<h2>Expert reaction and future prospects<\/h2>\n<p>Energy experts note that the Cabinet's decision was economically justified, but emphasise the loss of an alternative source of electricity for the south of the country.
