Ukrainians are warned of fines for renting apartments without formal contracts. Tenants will be obliged to sign formal agreements, and higher taxes will be imposed on short-term rentals. The new rules have already caused a wide response among homeowners.<\/p>\n

Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on the Organisation of State Power Elena Shulyak<\/strong> said that Ukrainians will face fines for renting out their homes \u00aboff the books\u00bb. This applies to all owners who do not enter into formal lease agreements. The innovations are intended to de-shadow the property market and increase budget revenues.<\/p>\n

From now on, tenants will have to enter into formal contracts<\/a>, and the minimum lease term is proposed to be set at three years.
