Kalashnikov Concern has announced the start of preliminary tests of a new short-range anti-aircraft missile system, the Krona. The system is designed to protect important government and infrastructure facilities from air attacks, including drones.<\/p>\n
Preliminary tests of the new Krona short-range territorial air defence missile system have begun with the participation of Russian security forces. According to Kalashnikov, the testing is taking place in conditions close to real life to assess the effectiveness of the system in future use. This was reported by Ukrmedia<\/a><\/strong> with a link to the Telegram channel\u00a0concern<\/a>.<\/p>\n The purpose of the tests is to verify the operation of the automated system, identify possible shortcomings and promptly make the necessary adjustments. The tests also help determine whether the system meets the stated objectives of protecting facilities from modern air attack weapons.<\/p>\n The Krona air defence system consists of a complex of detection and control equipment, as well as mobile combat vehicles or stationary combat modules equipped with destructive weapons. All components are integrated into a single automated system.<\/p>\n The main weapon of the system is anti-aircraft guided missiles, which are mass-produced by the Kalashnikov Concern. The system is focused on combating unmanned aerial vehicles, which are one of the key threats to strategic facilities.<\/p>\n The Krona complex is designed to protect important government facilities, urban infrastructure and objects of special importance from air attacks.<\/p>\n The tasks include the protection of special cargo in storage facilities and structures on strategic communications.
