In Bila Tserkva, two young men attacked a 35-year-old visitor to a restaurant with a knife because of a religious greeting. The victim was saved by doctors, and the attackers were detained. The court imposed on them a pre-trial restraint of detention without bail.<\/p>\n

Circumstances of the attack<\/h2>\n

According to the police, a 35-year-old man entered a Bila Tserkva establishment and greeted with the words \u00abChrist is Risen!\u00bb. This provoked aggression from a 19-year-old visitor, a supporter of another religion.<\/p>\n

The young man called his 23-year-old friend for help. Together they attacked the man, stabbing him in the stomach and neck.<\/p>\n

Actions of the attackers and rescue of the victim<\/h2>\n

After the attack, both attackers fled the scene, believing that the victim had died. The man was hospitalised in serious condition and doctors managed to save his life.<\/p>\n

The police quickly identified and detained the attackers. They are charged with attempted premeditated murder on the grounds of religious intolerance.<\/p>\n

Court decision<\/h2>\n

Both suspects were served a notice of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 15, Part 2 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code (attempted murder on the grounds of religious intolerance).<\/p>\n
