The United States intercepted the Sevan, a member of Russia's \u00abshadow fleet\u00bb, in the Arabian Sea. The operation was carried out with the participation of a helicopter from the USS Pinckney destroyer. The vessel is under sanctions by the US Treasury Department for transporting Iranian energy.<\/p>\n

US Central Command announces successful interception of vessel Sevan<\/strong>, which is part of Russia's so-called \u00abshadow fleet\u00bb. The operation took place in the Arabian Sea with the participation of a helicopter based on a missile destroyer USS Pinckney<\/strong>. Sevan is on a list of 19 vessels against which the US Treasury Department has imposed sanctions<\/a> through the transportation of Iranian oil and gas.<\/p>\n

After intercepting the Sevan, the US military escorted the vessel back to Iran. This is another step in the US naval blockade to counter the illegal transportation of energy from Iran and to strengthen the sanctions regime against Russian and Iranian companies.<\/p>\n

The Sevan is one of 19 vessels that have been sanctioned by the US Treasury Department for their involvement in the transportation of Iranian energy. These vessels use complex routes and change flags to conceal the origin of their cargo and avoid international scrutiny.<\/p>\n

The interception of the Sevan and its escort back to Iran is a telling example of how the US is implementing a policy of strict control over sanctioned energy flows. This increases international pressure on Russia and Iran, which are trying to circumvent the restrictions.<\/p>\n
