The Security Service of Ukraine carried out a large-scale attack on Russian military facilities in occupied Crimea. Ships of the Black Sea Fleet, aviation and air defence infrastructure were attacked. This operation was another step in destroying the enemy's military potential.<\/p>\n

SBU attacks Russian naval base in Sevastopol<\/h2>\n

The Security Service of Ukraine struck a powerful blow at key facilities of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol. The large amphibious assault ships Yamal and Filchenkov, as well as the reconnaissance ship Ivan Khurs, were targeted. In addition, the attack hit the Lukomka training centre and the air defence radio intelligence headquarters.<\/p>\n

It is known that the strikes were carried out by drones. The aim of the operation was to destruction of infrastructure<\/a>, which provides logistics, coordination and support to Russian troops in southern Ukraine.<\/p>\n

Attack on the Belbek airfield\u00ab<\/h2>\n

A separate strike was carried out on the Belbek airfield, which is one of Russia's main air bases in Crimea. According to the available information, a MiG-31 aircraft and the technical part of the airfield were hit. There are also reports of damage to the Mys-M1 radar station.<\/p>\n

These facilities play a key role in ensuring the operation of aircraft and systems Air defence of the Russian occupation forces<\/a>. The extent of the damage is currently being determined.<\/p>\n

SBU comment on the operation<\/h2>\n

Acting Head of the Security Service of Ukraine Yevhen Khmara<\/strong> stressed that such operations are of strategic importance for Ukraine. According to him, the destruction of Russia's navy, aviation, intelligence and air defence not only weakens the enemy's technical potential, but also destroys its ability to control the situation in the south of the country.<\/p>\n

The SBU emphasises that such strikes will continue until Russia stops its aggression against Ukraine. The operation is part of a systematic effort to destroy the occupiers' military infrastructure.<\/p>\n

Why it matters<\/h2>\n

The SBU attack on Russian military facilities in Crimea is an important signal to the whole of Ukraine and the international community. The destruction of ships, aircraft and control centres significantly limits Russia's ability to conduct military operations in the south.<\/p>\n

It also strengthens Ukraine's position in its confrontation with the aggressor and demonstrates the effectiveness of modern means of warfare, including drones.
