Volodymyr Zelenskyy and IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi opened a new exhibition \u00abChornobyl: People and Meanings\u00bb at the National Museum of Chornobyl. The President also listened to a report by the Minister of Internal Affairs on the elimination of the consequences of the Russian strike on the Chornobyl NPP confidentiality and stressed the importance of international support.<\/p>\n

Today, the permanent exhibition of the National Museum \u00abChornobyl\u00bb entitled \u00abChornobyl: People and Meanings\u00bb was opened in Kyiv. The event was attended by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy<\/strong> and Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency Raphael Grossi<\/strong>. The opening of the exhibition was an important event to commemorate the disaster and highlight its impact on the modern world.<\/p>\n

After the opening of the exhibition, the President heard a report from the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Klymenko<\/strong> on the work carried out to eliminate the consequences of the Russian a drone strike on the confidentiality of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant<\/a> 14 February 2025. According to the Minister, Ukrainian services were actively working to minimise damage and restore the facility.<\/p>\n

Particular attention was paid to personnel safety and environmental protection. The President stressed that the support of international partners remains critical to ensuring the stability and safety of Ukraine's nuclear infrastructure.<\/p>\n

Russian threats to nuclear safety<\/h2>\n

The discussion highlighted the damage caused by Russia during the occupation of Chornobyl. The occupation of the plant in 2022 created serious risks for nuclear safety not only in Ukraine but also in the whole world. Russian shelling and attacks on nuclear facilities continue to be a source of global concern.<\/p>\n

Zelenskyy and Grossi stressed that nuclear safety should be an absolute priority for all states. The international community should increase pressure on Russia to prevent new attacks on critical infrastructure.<\/p>\n
