The Cabinet of Ministers has decided to simplify technical control for international carriers using permits issued by the European Conference of Ministers of Transport (ECMT). From now on, the technical inspection procedure will be unified and comply with both Ukrainian and international standards, which will significantly reduce time and cost for businesses.<\/p>\n
The Ukrainian government has adopted a decision that changes the technical control procedure for trucks engaged in international transport under ECMT permits. According to the information, carriers will now undergo only one inspection, which confirms compliance with both Ukrainian and international requirements.<\/p>\n
This decision was initiated by the Ministry of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure. Previously, carriers had to undergo two separate inspection procedures, which resulted in unnecessary time and money. In recent years, businesses have spent about UAH 300 million on duplicate inspections, which have now been cancelled.<\/p>\n
According to the innovations, all accredited entities will be able to issue certificates of technical control, not just one state-owned enterprise. This opens up the technical control market, promotes competition, reduces the cost of services and improves their quality.<\/p>\n
It is important that the ECMT certificate is now issued immediately after the technical inspection, without additional procedures. More than 21,000 trucks applied for the latest allocation of ECMT permits, and for these carriers, the new rules mean a real simplification of their work.<\/p>\n
The government is also introducing European approaches to the organisation of technical control. In particular, it is introducing a unified classification of defects, clear rules for transport operation and full integration of data into the state system.<\/p>\n
These changes ensure transparency of procedures, improve road safety and bring Ukrainian legislation closer to EU standards. For businesses, this means a more predictable and understandable working environment.<\/p>\n
Cancellation of duplicative technical control procedures allows international carriers to save significant time and money, as well as reduces the bureaucratic burden. Opening the market to accredited entities creates competition, which will have a positive impact on the price and quality of services.<\/p>\n
The introduction of European standards in the field of technical control of transport is another step towards Ukraine's integration with the EU.
