The Government of Ukraine has allocated an additional UAH 2 billion for the eRestoration programme, which will allow another 20,000 families to receive compensation for their destroyed homes. The funding has been allocated from the Fund for Elimination of the Consequences of Armed Aggression for non-refundable payments to citizens. This is an important step towards supporting the war-affected and accelerating the restoration of the housing stock.<\/p>\n

Additional funding for affected families<\/h2>\n

The Government has decided to allocate another UAH 2 billion for compensation for Ukrainian families who lost their homes as a result of the war. According to information, these funds will provide financial support to another 20,000 families who have applied for the programme eRestore<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The money will be used for non-refundable payments to repair or restore homes affected by armed aggression.<\/p>\n

How the funds are distributed<\/h2>\n

The funding is allocated in two main areas. The first is rapid repairs, for which UAH 1.3 billion is allocated. The amount of compensation here can reach up to UAH 200,000 per facility. The second area is more complex restoration work, for which UAH 0.7 billion has been allocated. Here, the amount of payments is up to UAH 350,000 for apartments and up to UAH 500,000 for private houses.<\/p>\n

The payments are non-refundable and are aimed at enabling people to return to normal life as soon as possible after the devastation caused by hostile attacks.<\/p>\n

Current situation with housing destruction<\/h2>\n

Due to the ongoing Russian aggression and regular attacks on civilian infrastructure, the destruction of the housing sector in Ukraine continues unabated. According to official figures, more than 3 million households have already been damaged, representing approximately 14% of the country's housing stock.<\/p>\n

As of today, almost 139,000 families have already received compensation totalling UAH 13.5 billion. In total, more than 212,000 applications for participation in the programme have been submitted.<\/p>\n

Why it matters<\/h2>\n

Additional UAH 2 billion allocated by the government will ensure continuity of payments and speed up the process housing rehabilitation<\/a> for thousands of affected families. The average amount of compensation is currently around UAH 70,000 for basic repairs and over UAH 340,000 for complex reconstruction work.<\/p>\n
