entry\/exit control system - the Entry\/Exit System (EES).<\/strong><br data-start=\"343\" data-end=\"346\" \/>It will replace passport stamps with digital records and biometric data of all travellers crossing the Schengen area.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"656\" data-end=\"692\">What will change for Ukrainians<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"693\" data-end=\"825\">After the launch of EES <strong data-start=\"711\" data-end=\"755\">passports will no longer be stamped manually<\/strong> - All data will be stored in a common EU database.<br data-start=\"802\" data-end=\"805\" \/>The system is automatic:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"826\" data-end=\"1024\">\n<li data-start=\"826\" data-end=\"877\">\n<p data-start=\"828\" data-end=\"877\">will record <strong data-start=\"840\" data-end=\"874\">date and place of border crossing<\/strong>;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"878\" data-end=\"941\">\n<p data-start=\"880\" data-end=\"941\">will keep <strong data-start=\"892\" data-end=\"938\">biometric data (fingerprints and photos)<\/strong>;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"942\" data-end=\"1024\">\n<p data-start=\"944\" data-end=\"1024\">will control <strong data-start=\"959\" data-end=\"985\">length of stay<\/strong> in the EU (90-day rule within 180).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote data-start=\"1026\" data-end=\"1174\">\n<p data-start=\"1028\" data-end=\"1174\">\u00abThe EES will allow for faster entry processing and prevent overstaying in Schengen,\u00bb the European Commission said in an official statement.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<hr data-start=\"1176\" data-end=\"1179\" \/>\n<h2 data-start=\"1181\" data-end=\"1212\">Who is affected by the changes<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1213\" data-end=\"1531\">The system will work for everyone <strong data-start=\"1238\" data-end=\"1263\">third-country nationals<\/strong>, travelling to the EU without a visa or on a short-term Schengen visa, in particular <strong data-start=\"1347\" data-end=\"1371\">for citizens of Ukraine<\/strong>.<br data-start=\"1372\" data-end=\"1375\" \/>EES is being introduced in <strong data-start=\"1395\" data-end=\"1428\">all Schengen countries<\/strong>, including Poland, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and the Baltic States.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"1533\" data-end=\"1536\" \/>\n<h2 data-start=\"1538\" data-end=\"1566\">Why is this done<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1567\" data-end=\"1802\">The EU explains that the purpose of the system is to <strong data-start=\"1597\" data-end=\"1679\">improving security, reducing bureaucracy and automating border control.<\/strong><br data-start=\"1679\" data-end=\"1682\" \/>The EES will also help to identify people who violate migration rules or stay in the
