According to the investigation, the heads of charitable foundations and their accomplices sold goods intended for war victims at the 7 km market, causing losses of over UAH 44 million.<\/p>\n<h2>Humanitarian aid has become a commodity on the market<\/h2>\n<p>According to the National Police, the organised group used controlled charities to receive humanitarian aid from Turkey. Instead of being distributed to war victims, the goods were delivered to the 7 km market, where they were sold for cash. How. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/UA_National_Police\/65452\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">reports<\/a> According to the National Police, the criminal activity involved fund managers, sales managers, drivers, financiers and other individuals who performed various roles in the scheme.<\/p>\n<h2>Organiser and scope of the scheme<\/h2>\n<p>According to the investigation, the organiser of the scheme is a former customs officer. He used his professional knowledge and connections to organise the illegal activity. Under this scheme, about 50 tonnes of humanitarian goods were imported into Ukraine, and the total amount of damage is estimated at over UAH 44 million. The humanitarian aid was effectively turned into a commercial product, which contradicts its purpose.<\/p>\n<h2>Detention and criminal liability<\/h2>\n<p>Law enforcers detained three members of the criminal group in <strong><em>Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine<\/em><\/strong>. All of them have already been served with a notice of suspicion for <strong><em>Article 201-2(3) of the Criminal Code<\/em><\/strong> - illegal use of humanitarian aid for profit. The issue of choosing a measure of restraint for the suspects is currently being decided.<\/p>\n<h2>Why it matters<\/h2>\n<p>Exposing such a large-scale abuse <a href=\"https:\/\/ukrmedia.news\/main-news\/dnipro-sklad-oon-zhnyshcheno\/\">humanitarian aid<\/a> is a signal of the need to tighten control over the distribution of charitable goods. The sale of aid intended for war victims not only causes material damage but also undermines the credibility of charitable organisations and international partners. Such crimes may affect the amount of future support for Ukraine from abroad, which is especially critical in times of war and humanitarian
