The SBU, together with the JFO, struck at the Kirishinnefteorgsintez refinery and the Kirishi oil pumping station in the Leningrad region of Russia. Both facilities are of strategic importance for Russia's oil refining and export infrastructure.<\/p>\n

Attack on strategic facilities in the Leningrad region of the Russian Federation<\/h2>\n

The Security Service of Ukraine, together with the JFO, attacked two key Russian energy facilities Kirishi Oil Refinery and Kirishi Oil Pumping Station\u00ab<\/strong> in the Leningrad region. According to the information, the strike was carried out using drones, which led to the destruction of several important enemy infrastructure nodes.<\/p>\n

The Kirishinnefteorgsintez refinery is one of the three largest oil refineries in Russia, with a capacity of 20-21 million tonnes of oil per year. The refinery accounts for over 6% of Russia's total oil refining, and the Kirishi oil pumping station is one of the key facilities for oil exports through the port of Primorsk.<\/p>\n

Consequences of the attack on oil refining infrastructure<\/h2>\n

As a result of the attack, three of the refinery's AVT units responsible for primary oil processing were hit. A fire continues to rage at the refinery, which could significantly affect the refining volumes and exports of Russian oil in the near future.<\/p>\n

A tank with oil products was damaged on the territory of the oil pumping station. This poses additional risks to the logistics and export of oil and oil products from Russia, and may lead to a temporary reduction in supplies through the port of Primorsk.<\/p>\n

Every barrel of Russian oil sold is a financial resource for continuing the war against Ukraine. That is why Ukrainian intelligence services are systematically working to reduce the enemy's energy revenues. The destruction of such large enterprises as Kirishinnefteorgsintez demonstrates Ukraine's ability to operate behind enemy lines.<\/p>\n

The SBU has repeatedly proved its effectiveness in conducting operations at a considerable distance. This sends an important signal to the Russian leadership: no company involved in the war will be left unattended by Ukrainian law enforcement agencies.<\/p>\n
