Since the beginning of the day, more than 140 attacks on Ukrainian positions by Russian troops have been recorded. According to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the enemy also carried out more than 850 attacks with various types of drones, including FPV and Lancet.<\/p>\n

More than 140 shellings and massive drone attacks<\/h2>\n

According to the president Vladimir Zelensky<\/strong>, As of the morning of 8 May, more than 140 attacks on the positions of Ukrainian troops at the front by Russian forces were recorded. In addition, over the past 24 hours, the Russian army has carried out more than 850 attacks with various types of drones, including FPV, Lancet and other attack drones. The scale of the attacks indicates an increase in the intensity of hostilities on the contact line.<\/p>\n

Absence of even an imitation of a ceasefire<\/h2>\n

According to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the Russian side is not even trying to imitate attempts to cease fire at the front<\/a>. This is confirmed both by the data for the past day and as of today. The Ukrainian military records constant enemy activity, which makes any negotiations on a temporary truce or a reduction in the intensity of hostilities impossible.<\/p>\n

The President emphasises that such tactics of the enemy indicate the absence of intentions to de-escalate. According to him, the Ukrainian side will act in a mirror image, responding to each attack with adequate defensive and counter-offensive measures.<\/p>\n

Ukraine's mirror response<\/h2>\n

After another wave of massive attacks, Ukraine continues to pursue mirror tactics in response to the enemy's actions. Over the past day and as of today, the Ukrainian military remains on full combat alert. All units have received appropriate orders to respond to threats from Russian forces.<\/p>\n

Increased drone activity, in particular FPV<\/a> and Lancet, requires the command to apply new approaches to defending positions and countering unmanned aerial vehicles. The Ukrainian army is improving its electronic warfare capabilities and strengthening defensive lines in the most threatened areas.<\/p>\n

Why it matters<\/h2>\n

The increase in the number of shelling and drone attacks indicates an escalation of the conflict and Russia's unwillingness to compromise. This creates additional challenges for the Ukrainian military and civilians in the combat zone.<\/p>\n
