The European Union has made it clear that no amount of aggression will change Ukraine's borders. The EU representative stressed that the future of Ukrainians lies in the EU, and that Russia must be held accountable for its violations of international law.<\/p>\n

EU position on Russian aggression<\/h2>\n

The European Union's Permanent Representative concluded the UN meeting with a statement: Russia's actions against Ukraine are \u00abunacceptable under international law\u00bb and the aggressor \u00abwill face accountability and will never be able to change borders by force\u00bb. The EU has consistently supported Ukraine's territorial integrity and sovereignty.<\/p>\n

Ukraine has the right to choose<\/h2>\n

In his statement, the EU representative emphasised that the future of Ukraine and its citizens is inextricably linked to European Union<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u00abThe Ukrainian people have the right to choose their own destiny, including the path to EU membership. No former imperial power, no matter how revanchist or aggressive, should and cannot change this,\u00bb the diplomat stressed.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Responsibility of the aggressor<\/h2>\n

The European Union insists on holding Russia to account<\/a> for violating international law and attempts to revise borders by force. All the statements made during the meeting demonstrate the unity of the EU's position on the inadmissibility of changing internationally recognised borders by force. This issue remains at the top of the EU's political agenda for Ukraine.<\/p>\n

The EU's support for Ukraine has not only political but also symbolic significance. It confirms that the future of Ukrainians lies in the European community, and that any attempts to exert forceful pressure on Ukraine by Russia will be met with an international response.
