For several years now, Russia has been deliberately closing its own information space, displacing international platforms and transferring the audience to state-controlled services. This was stated by Vadym Skibitskyi, a representative of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, during his speech at Kyiv StratCom Forum 2026. According to him, such actions have become the basis for the stability of Putin's regime and have led to an atmosphere of fear and self-censorship among Russians.<\/p>\n

Isolation as a strategy: when it all started<\/h2>\n

Russia has been addressing the issue of controlling the information space systematically, long before the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Speaking at Kyiv StratCom Forum 2026, Vadym Skibitskyi<\/strong> recalled: \u00abWhat is happening in Russia did not start today or even in 2022.
