According to the Cabinet of Ministers, shelters should provide maximum accommodation for people and not impede evacuation. However, for vulnerable people, air mattresses may be a necessity, which makes it difficult to regulate these issues unambiguously.<\/p>\n<div class=\"news-summary-box\">\n<div class=\"summary-title\">Briefly about the main points<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>In Ukraine, there is no direct regulation on tents and mattresses in the metro during alarms.<\/li>\n<li>Cabinet of Ministers Resolution 138 requires that evacuations should not be complicated and that people should be accommodated as much as possible.<\/li>\n<li>Passengers are advised to take warm clothes, medicines, water and hygiene products for a long stay in the shelter.<\/li>\n<li>Prohibit large tents and mattresses due to space constraints, but mattresses may be necessary for vulnerable groups.<\/li>\n<li>There are about 62,000 shelters in Ukraine, which can accommodate only half of the country's population.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<h2>No direct legislative regulation of the use of tents in the metro<\/h2>\n<p>In Ukraine, there is no specific regulation that would allow or prohibit the use of tourist tents, inflatable beds or large mattresses in the metro during air raid alerts. The legal regime for staying in shelters is determined by general regulations, in particular <a href=\"https:\/\/zakon.rada.gov.ua\/laws\/show\/138-2017-%D0%BF#Text\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 138<\/a> from <em>10 March 2017 and the Law of Ukraine \u00abOn Civil Protection of the Population\u00bb.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Decree 138 stipulates that shelters should be used in a way that does not compromise their readiness, block access or impede evacuation. This means that large objects that take up a lot of space can create obstacles to the safe accommodation of people.<\/p>\n<h2>Recommendations for staying in the metro during alarms<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ukrmedia.news\/economics\/vartist-proyizdu-v-metro-mozhe-zrosty-do-64-hrn\/\">For passengers<\/a> advise to prepare a basic set of things for a long stay in a shelter: warm clothes, a blanket or a mattress, personal medicines, a supply of water or a thermos with a drink, and hygiene products. For pet owners, it is recommended to take diapers and hygiene bags.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, when you are in the metro, you should not occupy the aisles, choose places with fewer people, do not create obstacles to traffic and evacuation, and keep it clean so as not to leave garbage or lost items after the alarm has been dismissed.<\/p>\n<h2>Restrictions on the use of bulky items in shared shelters<\/h2>\n<p>Due to space constraints, shelters prohibit the use of large tents and inflatable mattresses that take up too much space. This makes it possible to accommodate as many people as possible in the shared space of the metro.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, for vulnerable groups such as children, the elderly and people with disabilities, mattresses may be necessary for a comfortable stay.
