Mass arrests in the \u00abGayun case\u00bb<\/h2>\n

Human Rights Centre \u00abVyasna\u00bb<\/strong> reported at least 88 detained Belarusians<\/strong> within the so-called \u00abThe Hayun affair\u00bb<\/strong> - criminal proceedings opened against citizens who may have been associated with the activities of the independent monitoring channel \u00abBelarusian Gayun\u00bb<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

From the first days of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, this Telegram channel collected and published data on the movement of Russian troops, aviation, equipment and logistics on the territory of Belarus<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Belarusian human rights activists have already appealed to the UN and OSCE<\/strong> to condemn the new wave of repression. European diplomats emphasise that the arrests in the \u00abGayun case\u00bb could be one of the largest-scale repressions in Belarus after the 2020 protests<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
