Other sources report that there are two tankers, each carrying between 30,000 and 40,000 tonnes of fuel. Apart from India, Belarus remains one of the main suppliers, having almost tripled its petrol exports to Russia in the first half of June alone.<\/p>\n<h2>Large-scale imports are part of the Kremlin\u2019s plans<\/h2>\n<p>The Russian authorities plan to import around 400,000 tonnes of petrol from various countries each month. By way of comparison, summer petrol consumption in Russia stands at approximately 110,000 tonnes per day. Last week, the Russian State Duma approved amendments to tax legislation providing for state subsidies for fuel imports, taking into account, in particular, the cost of delivery from India.<\/p>\n<h2>Energy partnership with India<\/h2>\n<p>At the same time, India continues to actively purchase Russian oil. According to data from the LSEG and Kpler tanker tracking systems, India\u2019s imports of Russian oil reached a record high in June \u2014 around 2.7 million barrels per day. <a href=\"https:\/\/ukrmedia.news\/economics\/urals-dyskont-trump-sanktsii-nafta\/\">Russian oil<\/a> It already accounts for more than half of India\u2019s total oil imports, which is significantly more than a month earlier.<\/p>\n<h2>Why it matters<\/h2>\n<p>The start of petrol imports indicates that Russia, traditionally one of the world\u2019s largest producers of petroleum products, is being forced to make up for domestic shortages with external supplies. This is a consequence of damage to energy infrastructure caused by Ukrainian strikes.
