In a comment to Suspilne, he explained that his decision was due to his disagreement with the personnel changes. A majority vote in parliament is required to terminate his mandate.<\/p>\n<div class=\"news-summary-box\">\n<p><strong>Briefly about the main points<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Poturaev submitted a letter of resignation to the Speaker of the Rada.<\/li>\n<li>The MP asked for it to be considered without delay.<\/li>\n<li>He cited disagreement over personnel changes as the reason.<\/li>\n<li>The decision to terminate a person\u2019s powers is taken by the Verkhovna Rada.<\/li>\n<li>If he is supported, he will be replaced by a candidate from the party list.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<h2>The statement was made during a parliamentary sitting<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Nikita Poturaev<\/strong> addressed the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada <strong>Ruslan Stefanchuk<\/strong> during the plenary session. He announced that he had submitted a letter of resignation, in his own name, from his post as a Member of the Ukrainian Parliament of the 9th convocation.<\/p>\n<p>Poturaev requested that the matter be brought up for consideration before Parliament moved on to personnel matters. However, this did not happen. The MP stated that he would wait until it was procedurally possible to consider the matter, and asked his colleagues to consider his motion without delay.<\/p>\n<h2>Disagreement with personnel changes<\/h2>\n<p>In a comment to Suspilne, Poturaev cited disagreement with personnel changes as the reason for his decision. The MP did not specify exactly which changes he was referring to in the comment.<\/p>\n<p>According to the MP <strong>Yaroslav Zheleznyak<\/strong>, Poturaev is resigning his seat due to disagreement with <a href=\"https:\/\/ukrmedia.news\/politics\/chotyry-ministry-novyi-kabmin\/\">personnel policy<\/a> coalition. In his speech, Poturaev himself said that he had been forced to take this decision because of other decisions made by parliament, but did not specify what those were.<\/p>\n<p>A Member of Parliament\u2019s resignation does not take effect simply upon submission of a letter of resignation. It must be approved by a majority vote in the Verkhovna Rada, according to Suspilne.<\/p>\n<h2>Who is eligible to take a seat as a Member of Parliament?<\/h2>\n<p>Poturaev was elected to the Verkhovna Rada in 2019 on the \u00abServant of the People\u00bb party list and is a member of the parliamentary group of the same name. He currently chairs the parliamentary Committee on Humanitarian and Information Policy.<\/p>\n<p>If the Rada supports the termination of his mandate, Poturaev\u2019s seat in parliament is to be taken by the next candidate on the \u00abServant of the People\u00bb list.
