The Solomyanskyi District Court in Kyiv has remanded Ruslan Kuchynskyi, an official at a defence enterprise, in custody without bail for 60 days. He is suspected of professional negligence in connection with the explosion of ammunition in Vyshneve on 6 July. The period of detention has been set until 14 September 2026.<\/p>\n

Following the hearing, neither the defence nor the prosecutors commented on the ruling.<\/p>\n On 16 July, law enforcement officers arrested two officials from a defence company \u2014 the chief executive and his deputy in charge of production. They were informed that they were under suspicion under parts two and three Article 367 of the Criminal Code<\/a> \u2014 professional negligence which, according to the investigation, led to serious consequences and the loss of life.<\/p>\n At the time of the announcement of Kuchynskyi\u2019s arrest, a preventive measure was still being decided for the second suspect. Both officials were dismissed from their posts.<\/p>\n According to the information provided by the Prosecutor General, the ammunition was being stored in unsuitable hangars without the necessary permits, close to residential areas. The distance from the company\u2019s perimeter fence to the nearest buildings was around 24 metres, and less than 18 metres to one private house.<\/p>\n The investigation cites as the primary cause of the incident missile strike<\/a> Russia.
