As established by the fact-checking platform Demagog, the videos promoted anti-Ukrainian, anti-European and anti-government narratives. According to the Centre for Countering Disinformation, the aim of the campaign was to stir up xenophobia and undermine support for Ukraine.

Briefly about the main points

Demagog has uncovered accounts featuring fake «Polish soldiers».

The video was shared via YouTube, TikTok, Facebook and Instagram.

The characters and videos were created using artificial intelligence.

The authors explored the themes of the Volhynia tragedy and migration.

Two of the four accounts identified have already been deactivated.

The network presented fake stories as interviews with military personnel

Demagogue He identified profiles with the names «Głos polskich żołnierzy», «Głos wojska» and «Polska defensywa». They posted short videos styled as interviews with representatives of the Polish armed forces.

In these videos, members of the military were allegedly criticising Ukraine, Ukrainian refugees, European Union policy and the Polish government. Some of the posts speculated on the Volhynia tragedy and also contained hostile remarks about Germany.

According to Demagog, two of the four profiles found had already been deactivated at the time of the check.

The shape and analysis of the video indicated that it was man-made

Fact-checkers concluded that the people featured in the videos are not genuine soldiers. This was indicated, in particular, by the uniform – which is not used by the Polish Army – as well as random lettering on certain items of clothing.

None of the posts analysed featured the logo of the media outlet that was supposedly conducting the interview. The conclusion regarding the use of AI was also confirmed by the results of a check carried out using a tool from Hive Moderation, Demagog reported.

The videos portrayed Ukrainians as a threat

One of the network’s key techniques is linking modern Polish-Ukrainian relations on historically sensitive topics. The fabricated characters portrayed Ukrainians as ungrateful, called for tougher measures and spread claims about an alleged rise in crime.

Demagog contacted the Polish Police Headquarters. According to information provided to the platform, between 2022 and 2025, the proportion of crimes committed by Ukrainians out of all recorded crimes in the country ranged from 1% to 2%. This contradicts the sensationalised narrative promoted by the authors of the video.

Anti-Ukrainian rhetoric was combined with attacks on allies

The content was not limited to Ukraine. The recordings also contained attacks on the EU, Germany and the Polish government; some individuals sought to intimidate the audience with talk of migration and claimed that Poland had allegedly found itself caught between Germany and Ukraine.

Ukraine’s Centre for Countering Disinformation has linked the mechanics of the campaign to previously documented Russian information operations, in which AI-generated characters impersonated military personnel, veterans, civilians and refugees. The combination of several contentious topics within a single content stream may be designed to fuel mistrust towards both Ukraine and Poland’s partners in the EU and NATO.

Demagog uncovered an AI-generated video on social media featuring fake Polish soldiers promoting anti-Ukrainian and anti-European sentiments.

Demagog виявив у соцмережах ШІ-відео з фейковими польськими військовими, які просували антиукраїнські та антиєвропейські тези.
[805619

post-25195","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-world
["GET
