Petrol station operators in the Dnipropetrovsk region have reduced the volume of petrol and diesel fuel in their underground storage tanks due to the threat of Russian attacks. This is intended to minimise potential losses and the consequences of fires should the stations be hit.<\/p>\n

At the same time, there is no fuel shortage in the region, and the authorities are prepared to deploy mobile petrol stations if necessary. This was announced by the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration Alexander Ganzha<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Why petrol stations will be stocking less fuel<\/h2>\n

Petrol station operators have optimised the levels of petrol and diesel in their underground storage tanks to minimise losses in the event of a Russian attack. This does not mean that fuel supplies to the region are being reduced or that restrictions are being imposed on motorists.<\/p>\n

According to the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration, the fuel situation in the region remains stable. Should temporary supply issues arise in certain areas, these are to be resolved promptly in accordance with procedures agreed with suppliers.<\/p>\n

The large oil depots in the region are not being used due to security risks. Fuel is delivered in smaller batches by road tankers, which allows stocks to be spread out and prevents the simultaneous loss of a significant volume of petrol or diesel.<\/p>\n

Mobile petrol stations and concrete shelters<\/h2>\n

If necessary, mobile petrol stations may be deployed in the region. They will be used to supply fuel to towns and villages where fixed petrol stations have been damaged, are temporarily closed or are unable to meet demand.<\/p>\n

Concrete shelters are also being built at petrol stations for staff and visitors. The most important pieces of equipment are given additional protection with special mesh screens.<\/p>\n

During an air raid alert, staff and customers must leave the petrol station premises and proceed to shelters. Remaining near the petrol pumps or waiting in your car whilst there is a threat of an air strike poses an additional risk.<\/p>\n

The police will monitor traffic congestion<\/h2>\n

The region has increased the number of mobile police patrols and Military Law Enforcement Service units patrolling petrol stations. Law enforcement officers are providing guidance to staff and visitors, and are ensuring that long queues do not form.<\/p>\n

The measures are intended to reduce the number of people and vehicles in the area PETROL STATION<\/a> during air raid alerts. The Dnipropetrovsk Regional Defence Council adopted the relevant decisions following a series of Russian attacks on fuel infrastructure.<\/p>\n

Russia has stepped up its attacks on fuel infrastructure<\/h2>\n

Over the past few months, Russian troops have been regularly attacking petrol stations and gas facilities in areas close to the front line. According to the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration, in the regions near the front line<\/a> Around 200 petrol stations were damaged or destroyed.<\/p>\n

On the night of 1 July, Russian drones attacked five petrol stations in the Dnipropetrovsk region. A 43-year-old woman was killed and three other people were injured.<\/p>\n

Reducing stock levels in storage tanks, using mobile refuelling units and decentralising supply cannot completely eliminate the threat.
