Emergency services were working at the sites of the strikes.

Briefly about the main points

Russia attacked Zaporizhzhia with guided aerial bombs.

A man died in a car that had caught fire.

At least six people were injured.

A college, a petrol station, homes, offices and warehouses have been damaged.

The authorities are surveying the areas and documenting the damage.

The strikes hit various locations across the city

Strikes were recorded near civilian facilities in various parts of Zaporizhzhia. The strikes damaged high-rise blocks, an educational establishment, office and warehouse premises, garages and neighbouring buildings.

At one of the sites, equipment at a petrol station and a car caught fire. The man who was in the car was killed. Emergency services put out the fire and inspected the area following the strike.

Six people have been injured

According to preliminary reports, six people have been injured. Medical staff are providing them with the necessary treatment.

The number of casualties is still being confirmed: the emergency services are inspecting the damaged buildings and surrounding areas where people may have been present. Law enforcement officers and municipal services were also on the ground, documenting the aftermath of the attack and assessing the damage caused to the city.

The town was attacked again two days later

This is the second in a row strike with KABs in Zaporizhzhia. The day before, on 25 July, a woman was killed and nine people were injured, including three children, as a result of the attack, Suspilne reported, citing Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration.

Repeated air strikes within a short period of time indicate that the city remains under constant threat. Residents are urged not to ignore air-raid sirens: due to the proximity of the front line, the time between a warning and a possible strike may be very short.

Following the assessment, the need for assistance will be determined

Once the emergency rescue operations have been completed, experts must assess the condition of the damaged structures and determine whether the buildings are fit for further use. There is currently no information on the extent of the damage or any decisions regarding the college’s operations.

In Zaporizhzhia, support mechanisms are in place for owners of damaged homes, including the state-run «e-Recovery» programme and local assistance. According to the city council, as of 18 June, residents had submitted 9,583 applications for compensation for homes damaged by shelling. Following the latest attack, the need for the preparation of reports, structural assessments and compensation may increase; however, the specific requirements have yet to be determined by the relevant authorities.

Russian forces launched a strike using KAB bombs on civilian targets in Zaporizhzhia.
