On the morning of 28 July, the Moscow Region came under attack from drones. A large logistics complex belonging to the Russian e-commerce platform Wildberries, located in the village of Koledino near Podolsk, was hit. There are also reports of a fire at the Chekhov recycling plant.<\/p>\n

The Wildberries logistics complex is located in the village of Koledino in the Podolsk urban district. Explosions were heard near the site this morning, following which reports emerged of a drone attack.<\/p>\n
Photos and videos shared by local residents and monitoring channels show heavy smoke in the Moscow Region. However, it is not possible to determine precisely from this footage which parts of the logistics complex have been damaged.<\/p>\n
Wildberries<\/a> It has not yet been reported whether the centre\u2019s operations have been suspended, whether staff were evacuated, or how much stock may have been in the affected area.<\/p>\n The Russian emergency services have not, either, published a detailed report on the consequences of the attack. The Ukrainian side has not officially commented on it.<\/p>\n The complex in Koledino is regarded as one of the key elements of the logistics network of Russia\u2019s largest marketplace. Large volumes of goods pass through it, before being distributed to other warehouses and collection points.<\/p>\n The total floor area of the various sections of the logistics facility was estimated at approximately 200,000\u2013250,000 square metres. The centre is equipped with automated systems for receiving, sorting and distributing goods.<\/p>\n It was previously reported that the facility can process up to 2.5 million orders a day. It serves not only the Moscow region but also a significant part of Wildberries\u2019 logistics network.<\/p>\n Any disruption to the operation of such a facility could affect the timelines for receiving goods from suppliers, sorting parcels and delivering orders to customers. The actual impact will depend on the extent of the damage and the ability to divert flows to other warehouses.<\/p>\n On 20 July, the warehouse in Koledino had already come under attack from drones. Staff were evacuated at the time, but Wildberries\u2019 press office stated that the complex had continued to operate as normal and had not sustained any serious damage.<\/p>\n The latest attack took place against the backdrop of a series of blows<\/a> at the company\u2019s logistics facilities in various regions of Russia.
