In the Moscow Region, a large-scale fire broke out at a major 3PL warehouse following a drone attack. The facility was used to store and distribute goods for retail chains popular in Russia, including \u00abPyaterochka\u00bb and \u00abAuchan\u00bb.<\/p>\n

The footage released shows a long trail of thick smoke rising above the warehouse area. Details regarding the extent of the fire, the number of casualties and the volume of goods destroyed are currently being ascertained.<\/p>\n

Damage to such a logistics centre could lead to delays in the delivery of goods to certain shops in Moscow and the Moscow Region. However, it is still too early to speak of an inevitable widespread shortage across all retail outlets.<\/p>\n

What is known about the fire at the warehouse<\/h2>\n

The fire broke out on the morning of 28 July against the backdrop of large-scale attack<\/a> drones targeting Moscow and the surrounding region. The Russian authorities claimed that dozens of drones had allegedly been intercepted on the outskirts of the capital.<\/p>\n

A fire broke out following the explosions near the warehouse. Footage taken by local residents shows smoke spreading over a considerable distance.<\/p>\n

The Ukrainian side has not commented on the attack. At the time of publication, there were no reports of any warehouse staff being killed or injured.<\/p>\n

3PL, or Third-Party Logistics, is a model under which a third-party operator takes responsibility for the storage, handling and delivery of goods on behalf of other companies.<\/p>\n

Goods from various manufacturers and suppliers could be stored simultaneously on the premises of the complex that was attacked. Once orders were received, the goods were picked and dispatched to distribution centres or directly to shops.<\/p>\n
