According to a statement from the Kyiv City Centre for Recruitment and Social Support, the suspect was arrested by police at the scene.<\/p>\n<div class=\"news-summary-box\">\n<p><strong>Briefly about the main points<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The attack took place at around 3.30 pm at the Podil District TCC in Kyiv.<\/li>\n<li>The man was taken to the Military Registration and Enlistment Centre for breaching military registration regulations.<\/li>\n<li>During the examination in the surgeon\u2019s office, he stabbed the doctor several times with a knife.<\/li>\n<li>The injured healthcare worker died from her injuries.<\/li>\n<li>Investigators are establishing the motive and the full sequence of events.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<h2>The attack took place during a medical examination<\/h2>\n<p>According to the Kyiv City Military Registration and Enlistment Centre, law enforcement officers took the man to the district recruitment centre for breaching military registration rules. He had previously failed to undergo a medical examination by the military medical board.<\/p>\n<p>To resolve the issue, the man was referred for an examination to the external Medical Examination Commission No. 1, which operates under the Territorial Clinical Centre. At around 15:30, whilst in the surgeon\u2019s office, he suddenly attacked the doctor and inflicted several stab wounds on her.<\/p>\n<p>Investigators and other law enforcement officers are at the scene: they are interviewing witnesses, examining the premises and piecing together the sequence of events.<\/p>\n<h2>The status of the Medical Examination Commission and the legal assessment of the incident<\/h2>\n<p>The Kyiv City Military Medical Commission emphasised that military medical commissions are civilian institutions and do not report to the military command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Medical staff <a href=\"https:\/\/ukrmedia.news\/suspilstvo\/v-ukrayini-hotujut-kryminalnu-vidpovidalnist-dlja-ttsk-i-vlk\/\">VLC<\/a> is also a civilian.<\/p>\n<p>The Military Medical Commission carries out medical examinations to determine a person\u2019s fitness for military service and the possible conditions of service. According to the Ministry of Defence, such commissions operate under the Territorial Military Commissariats and Military Units in accordance with the regulations on military medical examinations.<\/p>\n<p>Investigators have not yet disclosed the legal classification of the attack.
