Vehicles are waiting to cross the border at 38 checkpoints with five neighbouring countries. On some routes, the estimated waiting time is approaching seven days. The Association of International Freight Forwarders of Ukraine attributes the sharp increase in traffic to the blockage of seaports and the re-routing of some cargo to road transport. The relevant ministry, however, denies any direct link to the operation of the maritime corridor.<\/p>\n<div class=\"news-summary-box\">\n<p><strong>Briefly about the main points<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>There are 7,342 lorries registered in the \u00abeCherga\u00bb system.<\/li>\n<li>Over the past 24 hours, the number of cars has increased by 2,394.<\/li>\n<li>6,450 lorries are heading for Poland.<\/li>\n<li>At the \u00abYagodin\u2013Dorohusk\u00bb border crossing, the waiting time is approaching seven days.<\/li>\n<li>The AMEU attributes the congestion at the border to the blockade of seaports.<\/li>\n<li>The \u00abeChergi\u00bb figure does not mean that all vehicles are physically queuing at the border crossing points.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<h2 class=\"PDq2pG_selectionAnchorContainer\" data-section-id=\"fi5r1z\" data-start=\"1200\" data-end=\"1256\">Almost all transport has gathered at the border with Poland<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1258\" data-end=\"1448\">The most difficult situation has arisen on the Polish route. The system has recorded 6,450 lorries \u2014 approximately 88% of the total number. In just one day, the figure rose by 2,144 vehicles.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1450\" data-end=\"1511\"><strong>The heaviest traffic was recorded at the following border crossing points:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1513\" data-end=\"1982\">\n<li data-section-id=\"12nnt6a\" data-start=\"1513\" data-end=\"1639\">\u00abYagodin\u2013Dorohusk\u00bb for loaded lorries weighing over 7.5 tonnes \u2014 1,461 vehicles, with a waiting time of approximately 6 days and 23 hours;<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1b4bsvn\" data-start=\"1640\" data-end=\"1721\">\u00abYagodin\u2013Dorohusk\u00bb for empty vehicles \u2014 1,299 vehicles, over 5 days;<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1c9r3yl\" data-start=\"1722\" data-end=\"1789\">\u00abKrakivets\u2013Korchova\u00bb \u2014 916 lorries, approximately 4 days and 9 hours;<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"mncht7\" data-start=\"1790\" data-end=\"1849\">\u00abRava-Ruska \u2013 Khribenne\u00bb \u2013 665 vehicles, over 4 days;<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"n0xd6k\" data-start=\"1850\" data-end=\"1924\">\u00abShehyni\u2013Medika\u00bb for empty lorries \u2014 522 vehicles, over 5 days;<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1c3yfcs\" data-start=\"1925\" data-end=\"1982\">\u00abUgryniv \u2013 Dolgobychiv\u00bb \u2013 395 vehicles, over four days.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1984\" data-end=\"2220\">546 lorries have been registered at the border with Slovakia, 328 at the border with Romania, 11 at the border with Moldova, and seven at the border with Hungary. The current traffic situation is published on <a class=\"decorated-link\" href=\"https:\/\/echerha.gov.ua\/workload\/1\/1?country_id=133+&amp;utm_source=chatgpt.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-start=\"2139\" data-end=\"2219\">the official website of \u00abeChergi\u00bb<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2 data-section-id=\"1lk767h\" data-start=\"2222\" data-end=\"2274\">Freight forwarders attribute the queues to the port blockades<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"2276\" data-end=\"2754\">The Association of International Freight Forwarders of Ukraine has stated that Russian attacks and the blockade of the ports in the Greater Odesa area are forcing exporters and importers to redirect part of their freight traffic to road transport. This is increasing the pressure on land routes, particularly those heading towards Poland.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2756\" data-end=\"2996\">Long waiting times make it difficult to plan deliveries, increase costs for hauliers and pose risks to goods with a limited shelf life. A further increase in the number of registrations could put additional strain on border infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2998\" data-end=\"3402\">At the same time, the Ministry of Community, Territorial and Infrastructure Development does not agree with the conclusion that there is a direct link between the situation in the ports and road transport. The ministry noted that the main <a href=\"https:\/\/ukrmedia.news\/en\/world\/bolgariya-ports-vorota-yes\/\">maritime cargo<\/a> \u2014 in particular, grain and metal products \u2014 cannot be fully switched to road transport. The increase in activity is also attributed to the traditional seasonal upturn in August.<\/p>\n<h2 data-section-id=\"ip0vgo\" data-start=\"3404\" data-end=\"3456\">What do the 7,342 lorries in \u00abeCherga\u00bb actually mean?\u00bb<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"3458\" data-end=\"3714\">The \u00abeChergi\u00bb figure does not mean that all 7,342 lorries are physically queuing one behind the other at the border crossing points. Hauliers register their vehicles in advance, and drivers can wait for their turn at their company\u2019s premises, at home or at a designated waiting area.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3716\" data-end=\"3950\">Almost seven days is the estimated time it will take for a specific category of vehicle to cross the border at the busiest crossing point, \u00abYagodin\u2013Dorohusk\u00bb. This does not necessarily mean that the driver spends the entire time waiting directly at the barrier.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3952\" data-end=\"4209\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">However, the sharp increase in the number of electronic bookings indicates that transport corridors are genuinely overloaded.
