Novokuibyshevsk refinery in Samara region of Russia burns after drone attack<\/h2>\n

The plant's annual capacity is almost 9 million tonnes of oil. The plant has repeatedly been the target of attacks<\/strong><\/p>\n

In Russian Samara region<\/strong> a fire broke out at the Novokuibyshevsky Oil Refinery (NOR)<\/strong> after a nighttime drone attack.<\/p>\n

Local sources report Large-scale fire on the territory of the enterprise<\/strong>, which is part of the Rosneft system. Videos of a large column of smoke visible from several kilometres away were posted on social media.<\/p>\n

According to preliminary data, the explosion occurred after a UAV hit the production shop.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The Novokuibyshevsk refinery is one of the largest in the Volga region, with a capacity of 8.8 million tonnes of oil per year<\/strong>. The company has already been attacked by drones several times since the beginning of 2024, which led to the shutdown of some production lines.<\/p>\n

Fire brigades and the Russian Emergencies Ministry are working at the scene. Information about the victims is currently being clarified.<\/p>\n
