Neither the device itself nor its manufacturer are named publicly, nor are the cost, flight range or type of guidance system disclosed.<\/p>\n<p>The team is currently awaiting the results of the combat trials. These should show whether the system is capable of performing reliably against high-speed aerial targets.<\/p>\n<h2>High-speed targets reduce the time taken to intercept<\/h2>\n<p>According to Fedorov, Russian forces are gradually replacing conventional attack drones <a href=\"https:\/\/ukrmedia.news\/en\/world\/rosiya-zupynyla-vyrobnytstvo-geran-3\/\">reactive modifications<\/a>. The higher speed of such UAVs reduces the time available for target detection, decision-making and launching an interceptor.<\/p>\n<p>Jet-powered drones are more difficult to engage using conventional mobile fire teams. At the same time, Ukraine is developing cheaper means of intercepting attack drones so as not to waste scarce anti-aircraft missiles on them.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/ukrmedia.news\/en\/\">Ukrmedia<\/a>, at various times, open sources have estimated the speed of the \u00abShahed\u00bb drones at approximately 400\u2013500 km\/h. However, the interceptor\u2019s speed alone does not guarantee a hit: this requires target designation, communication and reliable guidance during the final phase.<\/p>\n<h2>Brave1 supported the developers and the testing process<\/h2>\n<p>The systematic development of the interceptor drone sector in Ukraine began last year: the market was opened up to private manufacturers, combat testing was carried out, and government procurement was ramped up. Throughout the year, developers of jet-powered systems received grants, technical reviews and assistance with organising trials through Brave1.<\/p>\n<p>According to Fedorov, several Ukrainian manufacturers already produce their own jet interceptors. These are being developed alongside the wider market for FPV anti-aircraft systems designed to counter reconnaissance and attack drones.<\/p>\n<h2>What is needed to move to mass production<\/h2>\n<p>Following successful combat trials, the developers must demonstrate a consistent ability to detect and engage high-speed aerial targets. Only then will large-scale procurement and the transition to mass production be possible.<\/p>\n<p>Fedorov stated that, to this end, it is necessary to increase investment in research, testing and production capacity.
