No one was injured.<\/p>\n<h2>Mini-petal mines were found in a field near the airfield<\/h2>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Dangerous anti-personnel mines have been discovered in the village of Gogoliv, Brovary District, Kyiv Region. The discovery was reported on 14 August 2026.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Whilst inspecting a maize field near the \u00abGogoliv\u00bb airfield, experts discovered approximately 20 red \u00abPelyustka\u00bb anti-personnel mines, also known as \u00abbutterfly\u00bb mines. A cassette, from which the munitions may have been dispersed, was also found at the site.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">No damage or injuries were reported as a result of the incident. A request has been made for the pyrotechnic unit to remove the explosive devices.<\/p>\n<h2>What makes the \u00abPetal\u00bb landmine so dangerous?\u00bb<\/h2>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The PFM-1 \u00abPelyustka\u00bb is a small pressure-activated anti-personnel mine. Due to its distinctive shape and bright colour, it can be mistaken for a piece of plastic or some other harmless object.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Such mines may be difficult to spot amongst grass, leaves, soil and crops. They pose a deadly danger to both adults and children. It is strictly forbidden to step on, touch or attempt to move the munition yourself.<\/p>\n<h2>What to do if you find a suspicious object<\/h2>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Residents of Gogolev and the surrounding villages are advised to be particularly careful and watch their step, especially when in fields, plantations and near the airfield.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">If you spot a suspicious object, you must:<\/p>\n<ul data-spread=\"false\">\n<li>stop and do not approach him;<\/li>\n<li>do not touch, move or cover the object;<\/li>\n<li>warn people in the vicinity of the danger;<\/li>\n<li>move to a safe distance via the same route;<\/li>\n<li>make a note of where it was found;<\/li>\n<li>call the following numbers <strong>101<\/strong> or <strong>102<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The State Emergency Service emphasises that only trained bomb disposal experts are authorised to defuse explosive devices. <a
