Among the food-related facilities hit was a large warehouse belonging to the \u00abFora\u00bb chain. The attack may cause localised supply disruptions and a reduction in product range, but there is no evidence of a widespread food shortage.<\/p>\n<div class=\"news-summary-box\">\n<p><strong>Briefly about the main points<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>At least four warehouse buildings have been damaged in the Boryspil district.<\/li>\n<li>The losses of stock and equipment at the \u00abFory\u00bb site are still being assessed.<\/li>\n<li>Following the attack on 5 August, the \u00abFory\u00bb and \u00abSilpo\u00bb shops were already carrying a smaller range of goods.<\/li>\n<li>Goods that require temperature-controlled storage are the most vulnerable to disruptions.<\/li>\n<li>One person has been killed and others injured as a result of an attack in the Kyiv region.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<h2>The fires in Boryspil and the resulting damage<\/h2>\n<p>Prime Minister <strong>Sergey Koretsky<\/strong> reported that Russian troops had also struck Red Cross facilities in Boryspil. Large-scale fires broke out at the sites.<\/p>\n<p>According to reports on the aftermath of the attack on the Kyiv region, 14 private homes, a petrol station, a high-rise block and cars were damaged. Fires also broke out at two fuel infrastructure sites.<\/p>\n<p>The extent of the losses to stock and equipment at the affected retail outlet is still being assessed.<\/p>\n<h2>The previous attack has already disrupted supplies to the Fozzy Group\u2019s networks<\/h2>\n<p>The latest attack took place two weeks after the strike on 5 August, when Russian missiles and drones caused serious damage <a href=\"https:\/\/ukrmedia.news\/en\/viyna\/silpo-pratsivnyky-zagynuly-kyivshchyna\/\">logistics infrastructure<\/a> Kyiv and the surrounding region. Reports at the time indicated that distribution centres supplying the \u00abSilpo\u00bb, \u00abFora\u00bb and \u2018Thrash!Trash!\u2019 shops had been destroyed.<\/p>\n<p>Representatives of \u00abFora\u00bb stated that they had lost a significant portion of their stock, equipment and machinery. The company reported that it was reorganising its supply chain and seeking alternative logistics solutions.<\/p>\n<p>The effects were noticeable in some \u00abFora\u00bb and \u00abSilpo\u00bb shops, where the range of products \u2013 particularly meat, vegetables and fruit \u2013 was temporarily reduced. The chains explained that delivery of some goods was taking longer due to damage to the logistics infrastructure.<\/p>\n<h2>The August attacks also affected other delivery operators and retailers<\/h2>\n<p>During the attack on 5 August, the NOVUS logistics centre, the \u00abNova Poshta\u00bb sorting centre and the distribution complex were damaged or destroyed <a href=\"https:\/\/ukrmedia.news\/en\/viyna\/udar-po-skladu-rozetka-u-brovarah\/\">Rozetka<\/a>, as well as the premises of \u00abEpicentre\u00bb, Intertop, Puma, Liqui Moly Ukraine and Raben Ukraine. The NOVUS logistics centre ceased operations entirely following several direct missile strikes.<\/p>\n<p>On 18 August, a Russian strike damaged EVA\u2019s large distribution centre in Brovary, which supplied the chain\u2019s high-street shops and online store. The company has warned customers of possible temporary shortages of some items and delays to online orders.<\/p>\n<h2>Cold stores remain the most vulnerable link in the supply chain<\/h2>\n<p>The greatest risk relates to cold-chain logistics \u2014 temperature-controlled warehouses for meat, dairy products, vegetables, fruit and other chilled goods. Following the previous strikes in August, Kyiv and the surrounding region lost around 80,000\u2013100,000 square metres of such facilities, which maintain a temperature range of 0\u2026+4\u00b0C.<\/p>\n<p>The capital region serves a market of approximately 5.5 million consumers. Damage to distribution centres is forcing retailers to move stock to other sites, increase delivery distances and reallocate goods between regions.<\/p>\n<p>The government had previously stated that the loss of part of the stockpiles could be offset, and no sharp price rises had been recorded following previous attacks. Retailers spoke of localised and temporary shortages of specific items, rather than a widespread shortage.<\/p>\n<h2>Damage to the logistics network and the human toll of the attack<\/h2>\n<p>Since the start of the full-scale war, Russian attacks have destroyed or damaged over 400,000 square metres of warehouse space belonging to Ukrainian businesses. Among the companies affected are Fozzy Group, Rozetka, \u00abEpicentre\u00bb and \u00abNova Poshta\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>As a result of the strikes on 20 August in the Kyiv region, one person has been killed and others injured.
