On 22 August, a major fire broke out in Lviv on the premises of the \u00abIskra\u00bb factory in the Sykhiv district. A warehouse where aerosol cans were stored caught fire. Five employees of the factory were hospitalised with burns at St Luke\u2019s Hospital.<\/p>\n

What is known about the fire at the Iskra factory\u00ab<\/h2>\n

A fire broke out on the premises of the \u00abIskra\u00bb factory at Vuletska Street in the Sykhiv district of Lviv<\/strong>. A huge column of thick black smoke rose above the industrial estate and could be seen from various parts of the city.<\/p>\n

Lviv City Council has reported that a fire has broken out in a warehouse, where the aerosol cans were kept<\/strong>. Fire and rescue units from the State Emergency Service arrived at the scene and began to contain and extinguish the fire.<\/p>\n

Footage released by eyewitnesses shows thick smoke billowing over the factory premises. Due to the nature of the products stored in the warehouse, the fire was accompanied by a significant amount of smoke.<\/p>\n

Five employees were admitted to hospital<\/h2>\n

The following people were affected by the fire five employees of the company<\/strong>. They were all taken to St Luke\u2019s Hospital in Lviv.<\/p>\n

According to the city council, doctors have diagnosed the victims with superficial burns<\/strong>. Their condition is assessed as moderate severity<\/strong>, patients are provided with the necessary medical care.<\/p>\n

As of the time of publication, there is no information regarding fatalities.<\/p>\n

Rescue workers are continuing to work on the company\u2019s premises. The full extent of the damage to the warehouses and production facilities is currently being assessed.<\/p>\n

What is known about the \u00abIskra\u00bb factory?\u00bb<\/h2>\n

\u00abIskra\u00bb is an industrial enterprise in Lviv, situated on Vuletska Street. PJSC \u00abLviv Electric Lamp Factory \u201eIskra\u201c\u00bb is registered at the following address 14 Vuletska Street<\/strong>. The company\u2019s main activity, as stated in the register, is the manufacture of electrical lighting equipment.<\/p>\n

The cause of the fire has not yet been officially established. Experts are to investigate the circumstances of the fire once the initial rescue operations have been completed.<\/p>\n
