On the night of 23 August, Russian forces attacked Kharkiv with a rocket-powered drone. The strike hit a residential area in the Osnovyanskyi district. Eight people were injured in the attack, including a child. Two residential buildings and an outbuilding caught fire.<\/p>\n

A jet-powered drone struck a residential area<\/h2>\n

The Russian army during the night 23 August<\/strong> launched an attack on the Osnovyanskyi district of Kharkiv. The mayor Igor Terekhov<\/strong> At around 00:49, he reported that a rocket-powered drone had struck and that the emergency services had been dispatched to the scene of the attack.<\/p>\n

Initial reports indicated that one private house had caught fire and that four people had been injured. Following the rescue operation and a more detailed assessment of the situation, the number of casualties rose.<\/p>\n

The blast wave and debris also damaged neighbouring residential buildings and a car. Units from the State Emergency Service and other emergency services were at the scene.<\/p>\n

Rescue workers managed to quickly contain and completely extinguish the fire, preventing it from spreading further to residential areas.<\/p>\n

Psychologists from the State Emergency Service provided support to those affected by the night-time attack.<\/p>\n

The number of casualties was confirmed following the strike<\/h2>\n

Immediately after the attack, the city authorities reported four casualties. These were the preliminary figures released by the mayor of Kharkiv, Ihor Terekhov, once the emergency services had begun their work.<\/p>\n

The State Emergency Service subsequently clarified that the number of casualties has risen to eight<\/strong>, Among them is a child.<\/p>\n

Russian troops have recently been using this on several occasions to attacks on Kharkiv<\/a> jet-powered drones. On 8 August, such a drone had already attacked the Kyivskyi district of the city \u2014 on that occasion, the impact was recorded on the grounds of one of the city\u2019s cemeteries.<\/p>\n
