She will remain in custody for 60 days unless she pays a bail of 20 million hryvnias. The hearing on the application lasted several days; the defence disputes the interpretation of the investigation materials.<\/p>\n<div class=\"news-summary-box\">\n<p><strong>Briefly about the main points<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mudriy was ordered to be remanded in custody for 60 days.<\/li>\n<li>An alternative to imprisonment is a bail of 20 million hryvnias.<\/li>\n<li>The SAP had proposed setting bail at 150 million hryvnias.<\/li>\n<li>The hearings began on 21 August and were postponed.<\/li>\n<li>A preventive measure does not constitute a finding of guilt.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<h2>The prosecution had sought a significantly higher alternative sentence<\/h2>\n<p>The Specialised Anti-Corruption Prosecutor\u2019s Office applied for detention <strong>Mudroi<\/strong> in custody, with bail set at 150 million hryvnias. The prosecutor explained that the proposed amount was based on an estimate of the former official\u2019s assets at over 250 million hryvnias.<\/p>\n<p>The court did not approve the proposed amount in full: the bail it set is 7.5 times lower. Should this bail be paid, the suspect may be subject to additional procedural obligations in accordance with the ruling.<\/p>\n<h2>The consideration of the application lasted several days<\/h2>\n<p>The hearing on the application began on 21 August. The hearing was adjourned, partly due to Mudra\u2019s state of health.<\/p>\n<p>On 24 August, the prosecutor continued to present evidence from the pre-trial investigation. Following this, the hearing was adjourned until the following day, when the High Anti-Corruption Court concluded its consideration of the issue of preventive measures.<\/p>\n<h2>Investigators have linked the case to money laundering<\/h2>\n<p>The NABU and the SAP presented an investigation codenamed \u00ab<a href=\"https:\/\/ukrmedia.news\/en\/main-news\/forest-hamp-nabu-150-mln\/\">Forrest Gump<\/a>\u00bb in August 2026. According to the investigation, this concerns the activities of a suspected criminal organisation in which businessmen, former and current officials from the Office of the President, representatives of the Ministry of Justice and other bodies may have been involved.<\/p>\n<p>Anti-corruption authorities are investigating an incident involving the legalisation of 150 million hryvnias, which, according to their information, was used as bail for the former Minister of Energy and Justice <strong>Herman Galushchenko<\/strong>. The documents also mention transactions carried out via Sense Bank.<\/p>\n<p>The prosecution alleges that members of the group may have attempted to gain control of certain assets and to influence the decisions of state bodies. The defendants are charged, in particular, with offences under Articles 191, 206 and 255 of the Criminal Code.<\/p>\n<h2>The defence disputes the interpretation of the materials by the Specialised Anti-Corruption Prosecutor\u2019s Office<\/h2>\n<p>At the hearing on 24 August, the prosecutor from the Specialised Anti-Corruption Prosecutor\u2019s Office presented part of the material from covert investigative operations, including excerpts from conversations between Mudra and a former Member of Parliament <strong>Maksym Mykytas<\/strong>. According to the prosecutor, they discussed conspiracies, replacing and wiping mobile phones, checking premises for possible bugging, and secure communication channels.<\/p>\n<p>Mudra\u2019s defence team disagrees with the investigators\u2019 interpretation. She herself had previously stated that the public portrayal of her role in the proceedings gave the impression of a verdict having been reached before the trial, and insisted on the presumption of innocence.<\/p>\n<p>In the same case, Mykyta had previously been remanded in custody with the option of posting bail of 30 million hryvnias, <strong>Valentina Yelizarova<\/strong> \u2014 detention on bail of 20 million hryvnias.
