The strike came amid a series of Russian attacks on petrol stations and fuel infrastructure. Just the day before, Russian drones had struck petrol stations in Kyiv on several occasions.<\/p>\n<div class=\"news-summary-box\">\n<p><strong>Briefly about the main points<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A Russian \u00abShahed\u00bb drone attacked the \u00abBRSM-Nafta\u00bb petrol station on the Kyiv\u2013Chop motorway.<\/li>\n<li>A refuelling complex in the Zhytomyr region has been seriously damaged.<\/li>\n<li>Prior to the strike, monitoring sources had detected the drone moving in the direction of Levkiv.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"PDq2pG_selectionAnchorContainer\" data-section-id=\"1apjq2p\" data-start=\"908\" data-end=\"964\">A Russian drone attacked a petrol station on the Kyiv\u2013Chop motorway<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"966\" data-end=\"1120\">In the Zhytomyr region, a Russian attack drone struck a petrol station belonging to the chain <strong data-start=\"1059\" data-end=\"1075\">\u00abBRSM-Nafta\u00bb<\/strong>, situated on the M-06 Kyiv\u2013Chop motorway.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1122\" data-end=\"1266\">The BRSM network lists petrol stations among its facilities, including <strong data-start=\"1169\" data-end=\"1204\">127 km + 710 m of the Kyiv\u2013Chop route<\/strong> in the Zhytomyr region.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1268\" data-end=\"1355\">Details regarding the consequences of the strike, any possible casualties and the extent of the damage are being clarified.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1357\" data-end=\"1500\">However, the photograph published in the article is <strong data-start=\"1398\" data-end=\"1415\">illustrative<\/strong> and is not used as evidence of the location or nature of damage to a specific petrol station.<\/p>\n<h2 data-section-id=\"1mvei91\" data-start=\"1502\" data-end=\"1529\">Attacks on petrol stations have become more frequent<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1531\" data-end=\"1636\">The attack in the Zhytomyr region is taking place against the backdrop of a series of Russian strikes directly targeting petrol stations.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1638\" data-end=\"1793\">10 September, Russia <a href=\"https:\/\/ukrmedia.news\/en\/viyna\/udar-azs-ukrnafta-respublika-park-kyiv\/\">carried out an attack using a jet-powered drone<\/a> A UKRNAFTA petrol station in Kyiv. The company itself officially reported the attack.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1795\" data-end=\"1990\">On 11 September, Russian drones struck petrol stations in the Obolon and Dnipro districts of the capital. In the Obolon district, one of the targets was struck a second time.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1992\" data-end=\"2218\">According to the Kyiv police, as a result of those attacks <strong data-start=\"2036\" data-end=\"2087\">Two people were killed and a further six were injured<\/strong>. Among those injured was a State Emergency Service officer who had arrived to deal with the aftermath of the first strike.<\/p>\n<h2 data-section-id=\"jsewpx\" data-start=\"2220\" data-end=\"2288\">The Kyiv\u2013Chop route is of strategic importance for road traffic<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"2290\" data-end=\"2429\">M-06 <a href=\"https:\/\/ukrmedia.news\/en\/suspilstvo\/vybukhy-myla-perevirka-prokuratury\/\">Kyiv \u2014 Chop<\/a> is one of Ukraine\u2019s main transport arteries. It links Kyiv with Zhytomyr, Rivne, Lviv and the western border. There are a large number of petrol stations along the motorway, serving private, goods and passenger vehicles. In particular, BRSM operates a petrol station at the 127th kilometre of the M-06. Consequently, any attacks on fuel infrastructure along key motorways not only pose a risk to staff and drivers but could also potentially disrupt logistics.<\/p>\n<h2 data-section-id=\"pzgjxv\" data-start=\"2820\" data-end=\"2873\">Is Russia specifically targeting petrol stations along routes heading west?<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"2875\" data-end=\"3115\">The recent spate of attacks may indicate that Russian forces are paying increasing attention to fuel infrastructure. At the same time, at present <strong data-start=\"2991\" data-end=\"3114\">There is no confirmed evidence that the Russian Federation is carrying out a separate, systematic operation specifically targeting petrol stations along the Kyiv\u2013Western Ukraine route<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3117\" data-end=\"3272\">It is therefore more accurate to speak of a series of strikes against petrol stations and fuel facilities, rather than of a specific campaign already underway against a particular motorway.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3274\" data-end=\"3446\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">However, the recent attacks in Kyiv, and now reports of a strike in the Zhytomyr region, show that petrol stations are increasingly finding themselves among the civilian targets
