A Russian drone before dawn On 17 September, the railway station in Berestyn, Kharkiv Oblast, was attacked<\/strong>. The building sustained serious damage. At the time of the strike, passengers and staff were taking shelter, so there were no casualties. Trains to Berestyn are not being cancelled as a result of the attack, according to Ukrzaliznytsia.<\/p>\n

    A drone caused serious damage to the station building<\/h2>\n

    According to \u00abUkrzaliznytsia\u00bb, a Russian UAV struck the area around the station before dawn. Footage released shows damage to the central part of the historic building \u2014 the roof structure and part of the walls have been destroyed.<\/p>\n

    Railway workers emphasised that Passengers and staff were moved to shelter in good time<\/strong>. It was precisely this that prevented any casualties. Experts are currently assessing the damage and determining the extent of the repair work required.<\/p>\n

    Despite the consequences of the attack, rail services to the city are continuing.<\/p>\n

    That same night, a Russian attack caused damage to the railway infrastructure in Kyiv. The station was damaged Mykilska Slobidka<\/strong> in the Dnipro district.<\/p>\n

    As a result, the Kyiv City Express is operating on a reduced service this morning, bypassing the Darnytsia\u2013Pochayna section<\/strong>. According to a preliminary estimate by Ukrzaliznytsia, it may take around a day to restore the station\u2019s operations.<\/p>\n

    There were also no casualties amongst railway staff or passengers as a result of this attack.<\/p>\n

    \u00abUkrzaliznytsia\u00bb reports that repair teams are working on several sections of the network simultaneously following the Russian attacks.<\/p>\n

    The night leading up to 17 September was generally a difficult one for the transport infrastructure. As well as the Kharkiv region and Kyiv, attacks on railway facilities were reported in other regions of Ukraine. In particular, in the Mykolaiv region, train No. 122 from Kyiv to Mykolaiv came under attack, although the passengers were successfully evacuated.<\/p>\n
