This is the first time that a country outside the European Union has contributed to Ukraine\u2019s funding through this instrument. The funds are due to be disbursed by the end of 2026. This was announced by Ukraine\u2019s Ministry of Economy and Environment.<\/p>\n<div class=\"news-summary-box\"><strong>Key points at a glance:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Norway is to provide Ukraine with around \u20ac90 million.<\/li>\n<li>The funds will be channelled through the Ukraine Facility.<\/li>\n<li>This is the first contribution made by a non-EU country through this mechanism.<\/li>\n<li>The money will go towards the budget and essential services.<\/li>\n<li>Funding is expected by the end of 2026.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<h2 class=\"PDq2pG_selectionAnchorContainer\" dir=\"auto\" data-section-id=\"lfwfwx\" data-start=\"837\" data-end=\"870\">What will Norway\u2019s funds be used for?<\/h2>\n<p dir=\"auto\" data-start=\"872\" data-end=\"974\">According to the Ministry of Economy, the funding will be directed towards <strong data-start=\"933\" data-end=\"973\">support for Ukraine\u2019s national budget<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\" data-start=\"976\" data-end=\"1187\">This refers, in particular, to ensuring the functioning of state bodies, funding critical services and implementing the reforms set out in Ukraine\u2019s Plan within the framework of <a href=\"https:\/\/ukrmedia.news\/en\/economics\/ukraine-otrymala-23-mlrd-yevro-yeu\/\">Ukraine Facility<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\" data-start=\"1189\" data-end=\"1434\">Minister for the Economy and the Environment <strong>Oleksandr Kravchenko<\/strong> He noted that international financial support enables Ukraine to maintain economic stability during the war and to channel more of its own resources into defence.<\/p>\n<h2 dir=\"auto\" data-section-id=\"wdvbg0\" data-start=\"1436\" data-end=\"1494\">Norway became the first non-EU country to join this mechanism<\/h2>\n<p dir=\"auto\" data-start=\"1496\" data-end=\"1745\">The distinctive feature of the new solution is that <strong data-start=\"1542\" data-end=\"1586\">Norway is not a member of the European Union<\/strong>, yet it became the first country of its kind to provide direct financial support to Ukraine through the Ukraine Facility.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\" data-start=\"1747\" data-end=\"1831\">Prior to this, the main funding had been provided by the EU and its Member States through this mechanism.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\" data-start=\"1833\" data-end=\"2084\">The Ukraine Facility itself is scheduled to run from 2024 to 2027 and is intended to support Ukraine\u2019s macro-financial stability, the country\u2019s recovery, the modernisation of its economy and the implementation of the reforms necessary for further European integration.<\/p>\n<h2 dir=\"auto\" data-section-id=\"1a7spw0\" data-start=\"2086\" data-end=\"2132\">Norway has already provided funding for Ukraine\u2019s energy sector<\/h2>\n<p dir=\"auto\" data-start=\"2134\" data-end=\"2246\">Norway had previously provided funding through the investment arm of the Ukraine Facility \u2014 <strong data-start=\"2213\" data-end=\"2245\">Ukraine Investment Framework<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\" data-start=\"2248\" data-end=\"2408\">By 2026, the country had already channelled funds through this channel <strong data-start=\"2299\" data-end=\"2326\">500 million Norwegian kroner<\/strong> in support of Ukraine\u2019s energy supply.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\" data-start=\"2410\" data-end=\"2635\">As far back as 2025, Norway\u2019s contribution through this mechanism amounted to <strong data-start=\"2469\" data-end=\"2486\">1.5 billion kroner<\/strong>. These funds were used, in particular, to purchase the gas required for the generation of electricity and heat.<\/p>\n<h2 dir=\"auto\" data-section-id=\"1vq0qzi\" data-start=\"2637\" data-end=\"2666\">When will Ukraine receive the money?<\/h2>\n<p dir=\"auto\" data-start=\"2668\" data-end=\"2806\">The Ministry of Economy expects that the new package, amounting to <strong data-start=\"2714\" data-end=\"2767\">1 billion Norwegian kroner will be received by the end of 2026<\/strong>.
