Pavlo Pavlyshyn, who headed the Rivne Nuclear Power Station for over ten years, has been selected as a member of the Management Board responsible for nuclear safety and operations. The new management team will be formed once the relevant procedures have been completed.<\/p>\n<div class=\"news-summary-box\">\n<p><strong>Briefly about the main points<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Yuriy Tkachuk has won the selection process for the post of chairman of the board of Energoatom.<\/li>\n<li>Pavlo Pavlyshyn will be responsible for nuclear safety and operations.<\/li>\n<li>As part of the search for a CEO, 78 candidates from Ukraine and the international market were considered.<\/li>\n<li>Nine candidates underwent a comprehensive assessment.<\/li>\n<li>The management model provides for the possibility of suspending operations in the event of a breach of safety requirements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<h2>Tkachuk\u2019s experience in the energy sector<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Yuriy Tkachuk<\/strong> He currently heads JSC \u00abUkrgazvydobuvannya\u00bb, and since July 2026 has also been a member of the board of NJSC \u00ab<a href=\"https:\/\/ukrmedia.news\/en\/economics\/naftogaz-mol-palyne-ugorshchyni\/\">Naftogaz of Ukraine<\/a>\u00bb. He has over 25 years\u2019 professional experience in the energy and industrial sectors.<\/p>\n<p>Before joining Ukrgazvydobuvannya, he held senior positions at Ukrnafta. In November 2022, Tkachuk became the company\u2019s finance director and was responsible for financial strategy, risk management and investment policy. From May to December 2025, he served as acting head of Ukrnafta.<\/p>\n<h2>Nuclear safety will be separated from general management<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Pavlyshyn<\/strong> He headed the Rivne Nuclear Power Station from June 2012 to June 2022. The only exception was the period from December 2019 to March 2020, when he served as acting president of Energoatom. In June 2022, Pavlyshyn was appointed director of \u00abAtomremontservice\u00bb for the duration of martial law, and from October of that year he served as first deputy mayor of Varash.<\/p>\n<p>Chair of the Supervisory Board <strong>Rumina Welsh<\/strong> stated that Tkachuk would be responsible for the overall management of the company, whilst Pavlyshyn would have professional authority in the field of nuclear safety. The model provides for the necessary status and independence of such a manager, including the power to suspend activities that do not meet safety requirements. The supervisory board described this division of responsibilities as standard practice amongst leading nuclear energy operators.<\/p>\n<h2>The international recruitment process was managed by Korn Ferry<\/h2>\n<p>During the international search for a new CEO, Energoatom considered 78 potential candidates from Ukraine and the international market. Nine candidates were shortlisted for a comprehensive assessment. They underwent structured interviews, leadership potential assessments, checks on their professional reputation and integrity, as well as evaluations based on professional and leadership criteria.<\/p>\n<p>The finalists presented their vision for the company\u2019s future development to the supervisory board. The international recruitment firm Korn Ferry supported the assessment procedures and carried out an independent vetting of the candidates\u00ab professional reputation and integrity.
