Four trains between Kyiv and Sumy will be cancelled, whilst services to Rakhiv will temporarily only run to and from Konotop.<\/p>\n<h2>Which trains are being cancelled?<\/h2>\n<p>The changes come into force <strong>1 October 2026<\/strong>. These are four long-distance passenger trains:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>No. 66 Kyiv \u2013 Sumy;<\/li>\n<li>No. 776 Kyiv \u2013 Sumy;<\/li>\n<li>No. 775 Sumy \u2013 Kyiv;<\/li>\n<li>No. 779 Sumy \u2013 Kyiv.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The reason given for this decision is the intense <a href=\"https:\/\/ukrmedia.news\/en\/viyna\/masovana-ataka-rf-ukraina-29-veresnia\/\">Russian strikes<\/a> regarding the region\u2019s railway infrastructure. Recently, due to shelling, trains on the Sumy and Nizhyn routes have on several occasions had to be operated using reserve diesel locomotives, diverted via alternative routes and dispatched with significant delays.<\/p>\n<h2>What will happen to the Sumy\u2013Rakhiv trains?<\/h2>\n<p>There are also changes to long-distance train services via Konotop. The train <strong>No. 143 Sumy \u2013 Rakhiv<\/strong> will depart from Konotop, and <strong>No. 144 Rakhiv \u2013 Sumy<\/strong> It will only run as far as Konotop. Consequently, the rail section of the route to Sumy is temporarily shortened.<\/p>\n<p>Bus transfers are being arranged for passengers on these flights <strong>between Konotop and Sumy<\/strong> in accordance with Ukrzaliznytsia\u2019s fares. Passengers should allow extra time for changing trains and check the latest information immediately before their journey.<\/p>\n<h2>Commuter trains will continue to run<\/h2>\n<p>Commuter services in the Sumy region will not be suspended entirely.
