Its cost was estimated at over $22 billion; the project is intended to supply electricity, in particular to data centres and semiconductor manufacturing facilities.<\/p>\n<p>US Secretary of Commerce <strong>Howard Latnik<\/strong> stated that $120 billion is planned to be allocated to the project for eight nuclear reactors, including a reserve of $20 billion. However, available reports do not confirm that Seoul has taken a final investment decision regarding this part of the package.<\/p>\n<h2>What are the details of the project in Alaska?<\/h2>\n<p>According to the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, the Alaska LNG project involves a gas pipeline approximately 807 miles long, running from the northern slopes of Alaska to the southern coast, and a plant with a production capacity of up to 20 million tonnes of liquefied natural gas per year. The average projected throughput is stated as up to 3.7 billion cubic feet of gas per day, with a peak throughput of up to 3.9 billion.<\/p>\n<p>In 2025, JERA and Tokyo Gas signed separate non-binding letters of intent to purchase 1 million tonnes of LNG each per year, should the project go ahead.
