The official transcript of the sitting confirms the adoption of the document.<\/p>\n<p>This is a political resolution of the Assembly, not a court ruling. According to a member of the Ukrainian delegation <strong>Yevheniia Kravchuk<\/strong>, it was unanimously supported by 59 votes. However, the available text of the PACE transcript does not contain the final voting tally.<\/p>\n<h2>What PACE said about voting in the occupied territories<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ukrmedia.news\/en\/world\/vybory-derzhduma-rosiia-2026\/\">Election to the State Duma of the Russian Federation<\/a> took place on 18\u201320 September. PACE documents characterise Russia\u2019s electoral activities in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine as a violation of Ukraine\u2019s sovereignty, territorial integrity and international law.<\/p>\n<p>The Assembly notes that such actions cannot have any legitimacy or legal effect. According to Kravchuk, the resolution also condemns the coercion of Ukrainians into taking part in Russian \u00abelections\u00bb.<\/p>\n<h2>Calls for sanctions and the isolation of the Russian Federation<\/h2>\n<p>During the debate, the speaker <strong>Alicia Kerns<\/strong> called for the introduction of <strong>sanctions against the Central Electoral Commission of the Russian Federation<\/strong>, candidates and so-called \u00abobservers\u00bb involved in electoral activities in the illegally occupied territory of Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p>According to Kravchuk, the document also calls for a refusal to engage with the new State Duma and for the political and diplomatic isolation of the Russian authorities to continue.
